The Sioux River District has about 100 full-time staff members and 25 part-time employees, and the Journal publishes articles in a variety of fields, including sports, health and environment, community development and economics.
The publication is located in the same building as the Sioux County Courthouse, which has been named the most beautiful courthouse in the nation by a group of local business owners.
The Journal has been featured in several national media outlets, including ESPN, CBS, ABC News and NBC News, as well as the local news outlets, the Sioux City Press-Herald, the Omaha World-Hampshire Tribune, the Des Moines Register, the Missoulian, the Tribune Tribune and the Sioux News.
The Journal has also been featured on national television and has been a member of the American Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, the National Newspaper Publishers Association, and other organizations.
The newspaper also recently announced plans to open a print publication in 2019 and have a digital publication in 2020.
